I am a renter and had a great experience working with Venture Dynamics in moving into our new home. The property manager who runs Venture Dynamics, Shea, is very clear and succinct when communicating expectations and deadlines, which makes the application process so much easier. It is obvious that she has several years worth of experience in property management.
She has responded to all my inquiries quickly and professionally. The negative reviews for Venture Dynamics seem to all be based on a failure of the tenant to abide by the lease agreement and/or failure to submit paperwork within the very clearly communicated timeframes. And of course there will always be potential tenants who are upset their application was denied. If you are prepared to actually read the lease agreement, abide by it, and follow the expectations that are VERY clearly communicated by Shea, then you will have no issues.

After promising a refund of $55, Shea is now saying that she will not refund the money she charged my 86-year-old mother who has Alzheimer's Disease and has accused her of installing a hook on the back side of a bedroom door! DO NOT rent from this landlord. If I was able to post a review with ZERO stars, I would.

Our experience with Venture Dynamics and in particular Shea has been nothing less than spectacular! We are now in our 2nd year with Shea and she has been simply awesome! We needed a larger home for some additional family members that joined us from the east coast and Shea had the perfect property. The application process was simple and we were approved in one day.
Since moving in Shea has always been attentive to all our needs and has responded super quick to any maintenance issues we have had (and there's only been a few minor ones). Shea is friendly, accommodating, professional and is very experienced in property management. Our interaction with her has been nothing short of AMAZING! If you are in need of a nice rental property, or if you are an owner looking to list your property, Shea's the one to go to! I would highly recommend Venture Dynamics to anyone!

I had an excellent experience with Venture Dynamics. I found Shea to be very supportive and understanding throughout my two year tenure at a lovely property. My tenancy was a peaceful experience due in large part to the high quality of care and maintenance the property received. Because the house was older, there were a few times when appliances required replacement. Shea responded immediately and followed up after each situation to be sure I was satisfied and that everything was in good working order. I am delighted to recommend Venture Dynamics as an excellent property manangement company.

WARNING, DON'T LOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! Below you will find the exact verbiage from Venture Dynamic's (VD) Rental Application. The verbiage in concern is "applicant will be required to complete a rental agreement and pay any and all fees/deposits applicable immediately." The term "immediately" is lose language and is not binding to any period of time.
Our rental application was approved and then denied. Me, my wife, and two daughters live 2 hours south of Portland. With my family in school and working full time, I cannot just pick-up and go to Portland whenever. We applied for the home on a Friday and received notice of approval on Monday evening. The time we had available to come back up to Portland was the following Friday (4 days later), same as the week prior.
Because we were unable to commute to Portland again until Friday they denied our application with the reason, and I quote "unable to step up". The language in the Rental Application clearly indicates VD has "4 business days" to accept or deny the application; however, the application loosely states that the applicant will be required to complete a rental agreement and pay any and all fees/deposits applicable "immediately".
My "immediately" is on Friday. Since we are out of town my suggestion was to email the documents and we will sign them and return via USPS next day air with our, already purchased, cashier's check for the full amount due (1st month's rent, deposit, etc.). Communicating via email is not an option with this company and they refused to work with us. VD defends their "4 days" having used all of them to approve our application then uses the verbiage "immediately" to enforce any time period they wish on the applicant then keeping the applicant's money and moving on to the next "customer".
A refund of the application fee of $90 was requested from VD and immediately denied without consideration. "APPLICANT PROCESS - Acceptance or denial of the application may take up to 4 business days. Upon acceptance, applicant will be required to complete a rental agreement and pay any and all fees/deposits applicable immediately. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the applicant. Applicant has the right to dispute the accuracy of any information provided to the landlord by a screening company or credit reporting agency."

Horrible experience! Rented with them for 3 years because we loved the town home, but it was very difficult dealing with them on any service related issues. The town home was filthy when we moved in and the carpets weren't cleaned. We somehow we got charged for carpet cleaning and interior cleaning even though the unit was spotless and we lost half of our deposit.
There was also a gas leak from the fireplace that the owner refused to have serviced at first. All around difficult to deal with and condescending. Please choose to go with a more professional and established company.

I had a very poor experience trying to rent a house from Shea, of Venture Dynamics. She was rude and impatient from the first phone call to the house walk-through to the last phone call. I have great credit and a healthy income and would have made a great tenant for the house we were thinking of renting, but after dealing with her I would never rent any house from her business.
She was extremely difficult to work with and life is too short to give my business to a person who treats potential clients that way. I strongly recommend if you are thinking of having your house with her company that you rethink and go with a more professional company.there's lots of them in the Portland area. As a potential renter. I would also look elsewhere. I wish I had read the other reviews before I wasted my time dealing with Shea.
