Jenny, the woman who answers the phone was extremely rude when I asked for information regarding my application and viewing an apartment. If I had talked to her prior to applying I would have never even applied and wasted my money for an application fee.

I will say communication is a bit tricky here. I understand they have several people applying so it is hard to keep with the traffic flow. Once you get connected with someone it's a much easier process. Got notified when additional documents were needed. Sadly one unit we wanted was rented out before we got a chance to see it. We found another unit we loved even more. Rocio was super helpful and responsive.

Upon move in inspection I brought up a few things I found and Maria got right on it. I got my keys. Waiting to schedule other repairs. So far so good. Thanks for helping me find my home!

This is ongoing review from a current tenant since the property is managed so poorly. There is a list of little things that need to be replaced or repaired. The guy the property manager has sent has not shown up, twice now. It's been over 3 weeks since the initial complaint. The person responsible for the repairs does not answer my calls. The property manager may or may not respond. Love the apartment, but seriously, what are you guys getting paid for?

When me and my girlfriend applied we got denied because of my girlfriend's credit score, even though it says on the website the requirement is 610 and we met the requirement. They explained to us that instead of 610 requirement, they changed it to 620 after we said that we met the 610 credit score requirement. They also said that we can not use a cosigner, that we can only use cosigner for income requirements not for credit requirements.

They said all of this after reassuring us that we got approved two weeks before and that we have 30 days to use this application to any apartment that we like. I reapplied again with a cosigner, the same day they disapproved the application due to my cosigner's credit score. I called and ask why do they require a cosigner's credit score even though, they had told me that we can only use a cosigner for income requirements only.

I had met the credit score requirement but need a cosigner for income but they said my cosigner credit score is bad. So it does not make sense. It does not say anywhere in the website that a cosigner has to have a credit score of 710 and it does note say that we can only use a cosigner for income requirements only and it does not say that we can not add a cosigner unless we reapply again.

So they want us to reapply again. In their website they do not provide terms and conditions. they do however mention the qualifications to be approved but we met all of it. Their leasing service is terrible, when you call they will pass you to different agents and waste your time. they would pass you over 5 different agents and would put you on hold without asking and sometimes hang up without saying anything.

Horrible landlords. We asked for someone to come fix maaaaany things that were wrong with the house we are renting, but they just ignored us until they finally just sold the house. The house sold 2 days ago, and their only email was one saying that the new landlords will be in contact, AND THEY SHUT OFF OUR WATER. No warning, and no information of the new owners. Stay away from this property company. THEY ARE TRASH.

I actually finally got through to someone in the office 2 days after posting. They explained that there were 3 applications ahead of mine and they "go in order". Though the listing is still posted and has been for nearly 30 days. It's a really terrible thing to be a property management company that doesn't communicate information like this to potential tenants.

IM WARNING EVERYONE DO NOT RENT FROM BORBA! I am livid! They think this is move in ready!? I called probably 20 times today and it goes to voicemail. I literally want to cry because they already gave me a hard time with the application process and now that I can finally move in this is what I get. Floors are black all over the place! Could be mold? Rotten wood?

Water damage? Urine stains? They said they were going to clean this place before move in so apparently this is their definition of clean. This is not suitable for living conditions. REPLACE THE FLOOR! Window screens have holes and they just tried patching it with a small screen slit with glue but the glue is not even holding. REPLACE THE SCREEN! Door knobs/latches need to be replaced because whoever they hired(clearly a 10yr old) painted over them so now doors won't close. REPLACE THE DOORKNOBS AND LATCHES!

The built in dresser that's in the bathroom needs drawers replaced because they have water stains and holes. They tried hiding it with these ugly mats and again the glue they used doesn't even hold. REPLACE THE DRAWERS! The kitchen and bathroom windows don't stay up when opened, they just slide right back down. FIX THE WINDOWS! I should have listened to all the other bad reviews. I'm living in a nightmare and I haven't even moved in yet. I don't even want to know what it's like when I move in. Micheal, I would like to get out of my lease. As per the fair housing act this group discriminated against me and my source of income. I'm a disabled veteran that receives payments through the veterans administration. The group refused to use my bank statements even when told that I could supply them with more then their desired 3 months. Rose was unprofessional and quickly became upset and gave attitude.

I wouldn't recommend anyone dealing with these people, I'm also in contact with my local representatives about the discrimination I faced. Good luck to anyone who has to do business with them.

Disgusting, all of the properties are managed horrible. And the buildings are infested. And i mean INFESTED! With almost every creature you can think of. They are very cheap and either broke or greedy because they find the cheapest way to cover up broken things. Then try to over charge you, for something they shoulda been fixed! Read the reviews the proof is in the pudding.

Everybody complains about roses nasty attitude but they all have nasty attitudes. My neighbor shot a bullet in my apartment ( accidentally ) and they didn't even fix it properly. They just plastered paint over the bullet hole and the shower. Then it caused a leak in the shower they never fixed that. Chile. THEY GHETTO. Run forest RUNNNN from any Borbra property! Worst landlord I have ever dealt with. They bought my apartment building and proceeded to raise my rent 40% over 8 months, then once again during the pandemic while doing absolutely nothing to improve the property. Once I left they renovated my space for $20k and then tried to steal my security deposit. Do not rent with them if you can avoid it

I left a Google review on their website check it out, long story short I rented from this company in 2019 they sold the unit to another management soon after. Fast forward I have to move because this new management company that owns my property has someone moving in my unit the owner. I applied for an apartment with Borba yesterday March 5, 2022 one their requirements you're credit score can't be less than a 620 in 2019 it was 550 but whatever.

I have a co signer I contacted the leasing agent to tell her my credit isn't 620 I don't have any evictions Judgements etc. I was told to apply by myself and they will let me know if I needed a consigner. Not only was I denied which I figured but now I can't reapply for another 30 days I have to be moved out by march 31 I have no where to go. Im was given false information they are so unorganized.

If you move in to a building make sure it's new I don't realize all of the issues my building had, until I moved in. The unit I looked at was brand new that's why I wanted it. Just make Sure you keep all emails receipts etc. Borba you're listings sit for so long because you guys make it almost impossible for people to move in 2.5 times the plus a 620 credit score.

I make the income I don't have any evictions etc. I have a co signer, not everyone has credit or good credit but y'all should give people other options. I make the income but because credit score wasn't high enough I get wrote off completely

I have never ever had such an horrible experience with an property management. I reside on one of the properties they manage and let me start by saying that they just automatically make changes on fees and expect us the tenants to just pay. Also when they took over the property they NEVER took the liberty to introduce and go over their policies. Every month their late fees goes up without any notice.

They make changes in unit and they just go ahead and decide to charge without notifying, they're answer is "you as a tenant have to take care od the unit" YES I totally agree BUT what happens to WEAR AND TEAR things get old and especially when the unit was given in such poor care. Like termites eating up the building. The city will be taking care of them soon.

They took out a lot of my deposit. Things that are normal wear and tear but I was over going back and forth with them. They had the audacity to charge me a cleaning fee when I left the place cleaner than when they gave it to me. Got them to reverse that but they charged me for the blinds because there were cracked but those blinds were ancient and broke by just opening and closing. As you can tell from other reviews they won't look out for you.

Leo and Alejandra are the most unpleasant human beings on the planet - they're both rude, unprofessional, and condescending. And no one at this place seems to care that there's CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE MY BROTHER'S APARTMENT due to their negligence. There's plenty of other property management groups in the area - go with one of them because this place is trash. EDIT: the slip from the gas company states that there IS an issue AND THE UNIT IT UNINHABITABLE - I think I'll trust the gas company and not the genius team at Borba.

The worst property management company ever. There's a neighbor below me that has been cited by the police five times for a name for noise disruption. They play their music starting at 5 AM. The property management company won't even cooperate with the police regarding this woman's ridiculous behavior.

This is 100% scam. They are only collecting money out of the application fees. No one is going to qualified, I have everything that you need for renting an apartment, Good income with proof of it, Good credit, No criminal record, , you name it, I have everything. And They just collecting money from people who's looking for a place to move. Be aware!

Overall, they are ok. I have only rented with them so it is a biased opinion. My advice is to email, as means of communication. Keep a paper trail of all your inquiries and issues. Anyway, Sandra/Sandy Perez- amazing. The only one that went above and beyond to help me. Everyone else seems not to care. Also, Thomaz was really nice (don't know if he's still there tho-maintenance). I am a current resident and so far I haven't had any major issues with them.

Still waiting on our case manager after 5 days. She never contacted us after being assigned n the person who answers the phone always transfers it but no answer. When u have deadline. this matters.

My client has a LA County Housing voucher that guarantees rent for 1 year and more if the person continues to qualify. They told me they take the voucher. I paid the application fee only to be called and told they cannot except the client because he has know credit or the 2 to 3 times the rent. People that get housing vouchers don't make 2 to 3 times the rent or have great credit or possibly any credit.

If they did they wouldn't need a housing voucher! Borba collects fees only to deny people! I'm going to take this issue to whoever I need to to stop these property management companies from doing this to the people who need help! Shame on Borba property!

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness They do not care about their tenants or care about upgrading their properties. Good luck if you're dealing with a pest issue due to negligence on their end. Please stay away and look at their reviews on here and Yelp, I'm soooo glad I no longer live in a property managed by them, my quality of life has increased exponentially.

Horrible property group took my money for a application fee knowing the place wasn't available anymore then to make things worst the lady underestimated my income. But I'm not tripping based of the reviews here I'm glad I didn't get approved. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere they don't care about you or current situation just money and income but jokes on them god don't like ugly.

Scam company. They just collect application fees. My credit and references are good, so they cancelled my application instead of denying me. This was a money grab, clearly. Response to company: First of all, my credit wasn't pulled. So before you go on about application fees please know that my application could not have been properly processed without running my credit.

Credit is one of the guidelines which are required to rent. Why wasn't my credit pulled, by the way? Do you bypass pulling ALL applicants' credit after collecting an application fee? I called the morning after I submitted my application to follow up and was told that I wouldn't hear back for 2-3 days. Four hours later, your company sent a text (at 12:40pm) asking for bank statements by 2pm, or you'll cancel the application. What's the policy for cancelling an application? Is the required turn around time to receive conditions an hour and 20 minutes for ALL applicants, or just some of them?

Have you ever given applicants a full day to submit requested conditions? Which applicants were allowed a full day turn around time? I hope this doesn't disproportionately affect certain people. Seems like something that should be looked into. Question: why would you require 3 month bank statements on a W2 wage earner? I submitted a months worth of my most recent paystubs. My review stands. I will contact your office via certified mail for a refund of my application fee.

I lived in a Borba Property Group unit and I loved it. When I needed anything Borba was right on it and did a follow up to make sure the work was completed. I thank Borba Property Group for giving me and my family a place to stay during a time when we truly needed it. I would highly recommend renting with Borba. Some may beg to differ but that's okay. I personally loved my apartment and If i ever needed to rent again I will definitely go with Borba Property Group.

I am writing specifically to talk about one person within this company and her name is Rose Perez. I have dealt with Rose on many different occasions within the last month or so. My mother moved into a residence that is managed by this company. Rose has been spectacular. I have spoken with Rose several times and one of those times Rose was not feeling well. BUT she has ALWAYS been nice, kind, professional, great customer service skills, and willing to assist with whatever she could.

When Rose told me she would call me back she ALWAYS did. I am grateful that she attempted to make this move so pleasant for myself and my elderly mother. Whenever I have any issues I will be contacting her. Thank You Rose for EVERYTHING!

The deposit said $1,000 when the lady got through she charged me $4,700 to move in. I have a section 8 voucher that would pay majority of the rent. My part would be 2 or $300. No problem. If I had that kind of money I would not need section 8. So they refuse guaranteed money from the government and turn me away. I don't think that was fair and neither does section 8

We lived in a great property in San Pedro for 6 years and 6 months. We found the maintenance and our manager to be very responsive. Always professional and courteous people to come in and do the work. We had two landlords, and Borba never skipped a beat. If we were landlords we would have hired them.

I have lived in one of Borba's properties since 2019. Since the beginning it has been horrible! They don't want to do any work and they definitely have horrible communication. No one knows what the next person is doing. I've had to send multiple emails regarding charges being added to our account for utilities we pay directly to the company's and not Borba, getting keys for water which had a lock put on it (key still never received after being told the property supervisor would bring it herself), prior neighbors blocking garages (multiple pictures were sent and nothing done by the property management), neighbor with excess music and always loud (told by Borba nothing they can do and to call the police), maintenance showing up with us knowing they were coming, maintenance request being canceled and having to resubmit them again. Request to speak with the owner directly to never hear anything. I have never in all my years of renting had to deal with a property management company like this

So recently my husband and I applied for what we thought was a vacant unit that they posted. Honestly it was red flags all around. From them canceling my application, because we were missing information. ( never heard of) why couldn't you just reach out for the information you needed right? Anyways, we provide them the information needed no big deal.

I call to check on the status June 1st. I was told it was " processing" I will hear back from someone via text or a phone call. I call back Friday because no one reached out. COME TO FIND OUT THE APARTMENT SUPPOSEDLY THAT WAS GOING TO BE READY JULY 1st is no longer available BECAUSE THE CURRENT TENANT ISNT MOVING. But failed to inform potential candidates. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN? YOU LET PEOPLE APPLY TO A PLACE WHEN THE RESIDENT IS STILL CURRENTLY INSIDE.

I'm so upset with this entire company. More so disgusted. I trusted that they wouldn't "scam" us and that's exactly what they did. But have the audacity to have their disclaimer about being scammed. I'm so not happy and will be seeking further law assistance. Because since they ran our credit. We aren't allowed a refund, due to their incompetence.

Correction! My unit was never sprayed when I actually lived in the unit lol What was done after I left is irrelevant. Where is my deposit? Since your acknowledging that I moved out. DO NOT RENT FROM BORBA I moved out from 5840 Orange Long Beach (the property in the photo). I submitted my keys on March first. it's now April 16th and I still haven't received MY DEPOSIT back from Borba.

Nor have I heard a word from them regarding my deposit. The is truly the worst company to ever have to deal with. Please do not rent from them. Small claims here we come #CancelBorbarealty
