Poor customer focus. When filing a case against Ebay, a company which has done away with its customer service and leaves no alternatives to reach them even though they create issues which require their attention, I expected to hear back from the Better Business Bureau in reasonable time about 3 cases. Instead, the local BBB branch in Silicon Valley took 10 days to respond on just one.

When the local branch doesn't respond, typically you seek help with corporate headquarters. Using the "contact email" as provided on the BBB Facebook page, on May 19 I sent an email asking if the local branch was still fully operational and what my expectation should be. I received NO response. On May 21, from the BBB Facebook page I sent a message asking the same question.

After not hearing back, I tried again on May 23. But no response. Next, on May 28 330pm EST I called the corporate headquarters in Arlington VA. The phone system tries to redirect you to the local branch, but option #9 allows you to bypass the system. That's when I came to a voice recording that says to call back between business hours 9am-5pm EST. Again, it was 330pm EST. Look, if you're going to promote yourself as a pro consumer-rights organization, then you can at least act like you care. Sheesh.

BBB always comes correct. They should take notice of the local gun stores being complained about and leaving reviews of experiencing racism. Two places I've experienced racism at is 'HALL PRECISION AND GUNSMITH' IN FREDRICKBURG VA AND 'ALL SHOOTERS' IN WOODBRIDGE VA

Derrick Hydleburg was the representative who provided me with all the information I needed. He first contacted me by phone, I was unable to speak by phone. From his message details, I was able to email him and have questions answered. My first opportunity to speak to him later by phone was informative. Finally, my next opportunity to complete my business with him happened to be after hours for him. He called me back after hours, completed my business, and still called me back a few minutes later to confirm.

The BBB that we have today is not the same organization that once sought to protect the interests of consumers. Filing a complaint with this agency was an absolute waste of time and energy, and I will never again view them as a trustworthy and reliable organization. Based on my experience, maintaining a relationship with their paying "members" takes precedence over actually holding their members accountable for any unethical (and sometimes illegal) business practices.

This agency deleted my entire complaint (including all responses from myself and the business) after I complained about their delay in closing and posting my complaint on the website. This is unethical behavior and they need to be ashamed of themselves. Also, do not trust the BBB rating system, it's bogus and fraudulent.

I've flied 2 complaints I have yet to have this resolved nor have I heard back from the BBB. The BBB is worthless in my opinion I would give them a rating negative rating

BBB collect $500 per business for an annual membership = A+ accredited business Once businesses stop paying BBB or cancel their memberships = business is not BBB accredited. ( so its all about $500 ) they have the best interest of the businesses through which they generate their revenues.

Not very competent. I filed a complaint with BBB against a business in October. A week later I received a message indicating my complaint had been closed because the business is a national charity and that BBB doesn't handle these types of complaints. I was told I could file a complaint with the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, so I did. Over a month went by and I heard nothing.

I posted a couple negative reviews and finally! I started getting responses (funny how that happens, eye-roll). Here's the response I received: "our local charity file was not set-up properly when your complaint was first received. It was assumed it was a national charity and then when we were notified by WiseGiving of your complaint on November 18th, we realized that it should have been filed here." So they wasted a month of my time and still won't help me resolve my issue with the business despite the fact that my credit card was used to pay for the service. TL;DR Don't expect much help or competence from these people.

BBB was a life saver. We had a company do some work at our house. The company said they did not do construction site clean. My insurance company showed a bill which they were paid for " Construction Site Clean Up ". I reached out to the PM and her boss slow response. BBB reached out to the company using the pictures I provided. The company responded saying they had did the clean before which was a lie.

In the end the company came out and clean the worksite the correct way. I will never use or recommend that company to anyone. I will continue to use and support BBB. BBB thank you for being a game changer.

HORRIBLE SERVICE))) There useless and don't stand for what they use to. They closed my case out with value city furniture 3 times. because they are either under staffed or too lazy to serve and do their jobs properly. I was delivered an incomplete living room set from VCF, I still have received my pieces to complete it but they received my payment in full.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize they got over on me and that I need to be reimbursed. Thanks for turning the other cheek on me and not coming to a resolution but instead running away from your responsibility and job by closing my case every time I reopen it. NICE JOB BBB

I was trying to contact the Headquarters for The Better Business Bureau, and I was directed to the BBB on K Street NW, Washington, D C and was left feeling disgusted. The individual from whom I try to get information from was beyond nasty. In my attempt to share my concerns with her so that she might direct me to a representative who could give me the contact I needed, she continually talked over me.

She never allow me to direct myself to her. She hung up on me twice. I had concerns regarding my Shoes.com complaint which is supposedly being handled by Better Business Bureau in Boston located in Marlborough, Massachusetts. It was as if I hit a wall when I attempted to communicate with some of the representatives in the branch so I felt it necessary to contact the headquarters.

The individual who appears to represent the Branch on K Street NW, Washington, DC stated there is no headquarters. The individual's presentation was of blatant nastiness and the lowest form of rudeness. One of the things she so dogmatically stated to me is that BBB is not on the side of those who own the businesses one might have a complaint against.

A thought I never had. I was of the opinion that Better Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization with branches with representatives who are to advocate for consumers who need assistance with their complaints regarding businesses who represent themselves in shady and underhanded ways. I sort help from Better Business Bureau thinking it was a good decision, but the negative treatment; the nastiness I encountered was appalling.

It is as if they believe that they can treat consumers coming to them for help in totally backhand, disregarding, disrespectful, nasty ways. They need to understand that negative things happen to all of us at some point and you will need help. They are not exempt. The experiences I encountered today. Truly beyond the pale.totally outside the bounds of acceptable behavior. Something is wrong here.extremely wrong.
