Select 1 Realty does a good job managing my rental. I'm very happy with their service. I have the gift of peace of mind since they took over management. No complaints here. Totally worth the money.

Worst property management i've ever dealt with. Straight slumlords that make you feel like a nuisance for trying to repeatedly get maintenance in whatever POS property they rent to you. Rented a few properties through them out of desperation and the service and employees were the same everytime. Deal with them at your own risk!

Most unprofessional property management company I have ever dealt with. I applied to rent a property through Select 1 Realty. Based on the qualifications listed on the website I qualified. I called the day prior to submitting my application and spoke to Deborah. She was extremely rude and short with me over the phone. Then someone named Sandy contacted me regarding my application.

She stated that she would be refunding my application fee, because she was not going to rent to me, but that she had not even ran my application. When I asked why, she then changed the rental qualifications to make it seem as though I did not qualify, despite what is stated on their website. She basically said that my monthly income was short by a couple hundred dollars, and she also assumed that I had bad credit. Do they not rent to persons of color? Because I can't think of any other reason why this happened to me. I did submit a copy of my ID with my application.

My experience with Deborah at Select 1 was not good. She acted strange and unprofessional. She was unaware of the condition of the rentals we were visiting and made excuses for why the properties were not well maintained. She also made comments and promises about updates which turned out not be true. It was odd and made me cautious about renting from them.

This place is a complete rip off! they kept changing they're story about their credit limit every time i talked to them, also they do a hard inquiry for a mortage loan on your credit do not i repeat do not rent from these crooks they should be ashamed of themselves not even worth 1 star! be ware of these people

I contacted Select1 Realty to manage my properties. Deborah responded immediately and answered all my questions one by one, so far she is the best professional property manager I found in contra costa. I would not hesitate to give her my properties to manage when the time comes to replace my current property manager.

THEY ARE THE WORST! Sandy and Deborah are just the WORST! They let you submit and application and PAY the application fee just to ignore you. I have been calling Sandy, Deborah, and the office for 3 weeks now and no one is answering. It's frustrating and very annoying. Why make people go through the stress of filling and submitting an application and wasting money just to not answer or reply at all?! Seriously Select 1 realty is terrible.

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. These unprofessional rude people all need to be fired especially Deborah Bailey. She moved me into an apartment knowing it had ROACHES. It's had roaches before I moved in on the first of April 2021, she later told me that last exterminator came out in September 2020. She does not respond to my text messages or emails.

She also does not return my phone calls when I call. I have a one year old daughter that she knows about and this is no way to live! I have NEVER lived with roaches and this is my first apartment on my own but It's disgusting! And it's making me very depressed on top of my post partum depression that I'm still dealing with. The whole complex has roaches!

They refuse to have the exterminator spray the entire complex so I'm going to move out. Deborah also mentioned she shouldn't of moved me in so soon. Very unprofessional and heartless. I'm very pissed off

We have serval rental properties in east contra costa for years. Select 1 Realty had always been very helpful when there are issues. They are also able to get tenants very quickly when he there is vacancy. Deborah, the property manager also help me on the new rental house purchases because I'm not familiar with local area. I'm truly happy to do business with select :-

Unprofessional and misleading rental postings. I applied for a home( on Portsalon in Antioch) I found listed after reading the screening criteria I applied. I was contacted the next day by Sandy requesting my credit score and telling me she has several pending applications. Which are highly qualified and she will be refunding my application fee because the owner wants someone with good credit! I informed her that the rental criteria did not state a minimum credit score! She said they require a 700 Interesting it's higher then the requirements for a mortgage.

There was a few problems with the property i rented with Select1. There was many cobwebs, laundry was old and not work sometimes, fan inside one of the bathrooms wasn't working, dishwasher was dirty, etc. I had to move out because the tenants upstairs when I was still there were really loud. Foot stomps and fighting. We were threatened also. I was charged around 30 dollars for missing an appointment which I never agreed to and couldn't make it because of school and traffic (oakland to antioch).

The lady wasn't too understanding because her office is located like 10 MINUTES away from the property. My 2,000 deposit turned to 1,600 because of carpet cleaning. I will never rent out a place with a realty ever again esp Select1. Deborah Bailey was ok to begin with but once I started finding all the problems in the property it was never fixed. It was affordable but location sucks.

Super unprofessional staff. Very disappointed. At least they're consistent according to the reviews.

I rented from their property management company for nearly 15yrs until I became disabled. In that time frame me & my family rented many of their properties, and the properties was exactly the home's & space I needed (4 & 5 bdrms, 3 baths & 2 livingrms & formal dining rms). They handled every single need that arose with the properties and I never had a real issue with them as the Landlords, and they never had a problem with me as a tenant also, Deborah Bailey was the person I always dealt with and I give her props- kudos Deborah as she knew my preferences in homes, locations, space etc and I worked out of town so I wasn't always available during their business hrs, and God bless her as she would schedule after hr & weekend appts for me to view the properties she picked & evaluated for me and all my furniture etc. she was the best! Thank you Select 1 Realty for a marvelous rental experience!

Select 1 has been very good. They have a fast and responsive crew that gets the job done whenever repairs are needed, and they have helped tremendously with renting out my home. My first tenant rented for almost 7 years and then had to move. Select 1 found a new renter in as little as 3 weeks.

Horrible people running this company. The gardener they use is a liar. The gardener will continually break sprinklers and blame the tenant. They never fixed the sprinklers damaged by their gardener, which in return killed the lawn, which we were blamed for. They are very manipulative. Save yourself the headache and stay far far away from them. Also trying to pay rent at their office in the Antioch is scary (not a safe area).

After moving out, my deposit was given back to us and they charged us for things that we did not have control of. They charged us for putting in a whole brand new sod in the front yard. When we first moved in the grass was barely even there in the first place and after 2 months of heavy summer heat already damaged the grass area. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I warn you now if you use this company, you will not be happy with their service and once you move out you can say good bye to your deposit. As they will figure out any little thing to charge you and keep all of your hard earned money! Out of 3000 deposit. We received $35 dollars back! And we cleaned the entire house and no damage whatsoever. BEWARE!

I'm sooo disappointed on Select 1 I just received my deposit back and it was a slap on the face!. from 3k deposit I only got back $35 dollars really?. I left the house way more better than it was given to me at the beginning, I have pictures and wrote everything on the check list why is it that they took my money. Please don't use this company they are not honest!.

Even the owner of the house went one time to fix the kitchen lights because Select 1 was charging him way too much so he decided to fix it himself!.PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME ADVICE IF I CAN TAKE THIS TO COURT!.

We have been satisfied tenants with Select 1 Realty for over 11 years and have had great experiences working with them when an issue at our property has arisen. The owner himself came out during a kitchen rebuild to ensure we were ok after a pipe had broke.

Extremely polite and professional atmosphere. Everytime i walk in to pay rent im greeted with joyful smiles. If you're looking to rent in the Contra Costa area id recommend going through select 1 reality.

On Monday 11/1218, I set up a time with Deborah Bailey to view property. As my son and I showed up she was speaking to another couple viewing the same property. From what I observed she was very helpful and courteous with the first couple even handed them a paper application. When it was my turn to ask questions her demeanor immediately changed as if she had to go all of a sudden and couldn't answer any questions.

She immediately tried to convince me that other property will be up for rent as if this one was already taken. I asked her for a paper application which I saw her give to the other couple, but she said she didn't have any and that all forms were online. This exchange made me very uncomfortable but we decided to try and apply anyway since our monthly income is 5x the required amount.

It was the email exchanges that convinced me that were weren't going to get this place even if we tried. She was unprofessional and rude in her responses, the only conclusion that I can draw from my experience with Deborah Bailey is that Select 1 Realty DOES NOT WANT TO RENT TO PEOPLE OF COLOR! That was the only difference between myself and the couple viewing the place before us was they were white and got treated better that we did!

As soon as she saw myself and my son who are beautifully brown her attitude changed! Not for the better either! IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLORTHI MIGHT NOT BE THE BUSINESS FOR YOU!

Our experience with Select 1 Realty has been nothing but true professionalism and outstanding customer service. They're quick to respond to any problem and their service vendors are very professional as well. We feel like we're being taken care of and that's an important quality for us as tenants.

I can't say enough good things about Select 1. Before finding them, we suffered through an uncaring property management company and absolutely horrific tenants for years. Since hiring Select 1, and specifically Deborah Bailey, we have had nothing but good experiences. The first tenants they found us, ended up being long term and low maintenance and I can't tell you how much we appreciate that! It is so refreshing to find a company that cares not only about the landlords, but also about the tenants and the property itself!

Was a model tenant. Spent 400$ having place cleaned after move out then touched up myself. They still charged me for petty things stating there was a spot inside a drawer and "fingerprints " on the stainless fridge. Which were not there when I left. The office manager is very rude and not helpful.

I can with a doubt, say that Deborah Bailey is the most amazing property manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Deborah showed me quite a few properties and each time, her patience astounded me. She was always accommodating of my time, and never once made me feel rushed. When the house i wanted, didn't come through, she was the ear I texted for help, and help she did.

She found me a house in our price range that would have worked for us, until the moment I brought in my deposit. At that very moment, the house i had been hoping for all along, called and offered it to me. I cried with happiness, and then horror when I realized I was going to not be working with Deborah. I was torn on what to do, let alone what to say and in the end I just told her the truth.

With a huge smile, she congratulated me and told me not to worry, that she was glad I got what I wanted. I just cried. I expected her to be frustrated, upset, annoyed -- but she wasn't. She was truly happy for me and her face, body language, etc. ALL projected that. You should feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with Deborah and her staff. If I ever need the help of property management company in the future, Select 1 Realty is where I'll turn, hands down.

This was the most efficient process I have ever dealt with in applying for a rental property. I applied and was approved all in the same day. Sandy and Deborah are the best! After living in apartments for 10 years me and my daughters will finally be moving into a home. This was made possible by these wonderful ladies to whom I am truly grateful. I would recommend Select 1 Realty to anyone in a heartbeat.

All i can say is that, they are the best. Whatever you need they are quick and very responsive. They make you feel that you are important. They are on top of everything. Thank You for everything!

They get another 1 star for having the nerve to call me about my review hold your L select Dumb they spent more questioning me about my review then they did tryna help me relocate offered no assitance very rude respond to this my lawyer will call u next select Dumb hands down find another company

I have seen this company for years, and never wanted to rent from them because they were snotty to someone I know. Now that I am urgently looking I called and the first thing they said was "you have to have good credit" I hung up! it's 2016 most folks don't have 800 credit scores anymore and a lot of owners work with people as long as it's not evictions who cares about student loans etc. and this was a low income program which shouldn't be because they really want people with A-1 credit which is normally not "low income" I hate company's like this. look else where.and they are snotty.

I'm looking for an agent. I came across this yelp page to read reviews. I was fairly satisfied and ready to give them a call until I read the response left by the owner on Mikenya (check spelling) one star review. The owner did not even attempt to listen to the complaint or address the rude comments made by his employees. His post reflects an us vs them attitude and poor customer service. I will not be contacting them.
