I got a friendly and caring experience with my person Shebi. She seemed very interested in me and very caring about my time to viewing places. She worked around my s schedule and showing me apartment. A very professional lady at MPM.

I rented a duplex in Nevada, IA for several years from MPM. They were responsive to the few issues I had (racoon family in attic). They were always willing to work with me on rent payment due dates and polite whenever we communicated. I would rent again without hesitation.

My wife and I lived in one of their apartment complexes on Bristol Drive for 3 years and it was by far the best place I've ever lived. It was very clean, modern, spacious, and quiet. It was also surprisingly cheap given the quality (especially compared to our previous apartment). We also have friends who lived in other apartment units and their units were also very nice.

The office staff and maintenance workers were always friendly, responsive, and professional. Although there were times where several maintenance issues arose at once (or repeatedly), they were always quick to address the problem. If we didn't have to move for jobs, we would happily have kept living here.

This has been, by far, the best renting experience I have ever had. The apartment itself is wonderful, and the area is lovely and quiet, plus we have access to the clubhouse and pool. We even had our (small) wedding at the clubhouse! The people who work in the office at MPM are always friendly and helpful. When we submit maintenance requests or other queries, they respond quickly, and it is usually fixed the same day that we make the request.

Their maintenance people are also wonderful - they always leave the place clean and they are friendly and professional. I would recommend Martin Property Management to anyone looking for an rental property in Ames.

My partner and I have rented through MPM in Ames for over three years and have had an overall great experience! Their units on Grand Ave. are especially great for student couples or singles looking for an affordable and relatively quiet space. We especially enjoyed working with Lauren and Becca in MPM's main office. Their team has always been honest, compassionate and collaborative with any issues we have had. All maintenance issues were addressed promptly.

Those slumlords.i only rented from them because it was cheap and easy to get into. The apartment was filthy, everything had to be cleaned upon moving in. There are cockroaches in their Toronto St apartments. Getting them to fix anything was like pulling teeth and they only fixed what we could report them for. They will try to keep your deposit for any reason. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Where do I even start? There were mice infesting the apartment and we killed like 10 of them and when I complained (repeatedly, because nothing was done initially) they came into the apartment and put 2 cheap wooden mouse traps in the kitchen. Any time anything had to be fixed, they'd take ages to come and do it and tried to charge me for everything.

They actually argued with me on multiple occasions that the plumbing in the apartment was my responsibility, even though the lease said nothing like this and said they needed to maintain the plumbing. Our drains backed up because we were next to the main line and the upstairs neighbors dumped a fishtank with sand in it down their sink and they tried to charge us to clear it.

And 3 months after we moved in, the bathtub clogged completely and none of the smaller snakes or the draino that I bought were able to clear it. It took 3 weeks of arguing with them with a clogged, unusable shower drain for them to send someone to come fix it and they insisted that it was our responsibility to hire a plumber. They tried to charge me afterwards even though there was no way those drains should have completely clogged after only 3 months of use with a hair catcher covering it.

They entered the apartment to show it without notifying us, which is illegal. When we first moved in, we told them we would be moving in 2 weeks late and that they would have longer on repairs and the apartment was still only half-painted, the carpets hadn't been cleaned and was very dirty, there was a hole in the kitchen floor, and the painting drop-clothes and rollers were laying scattered all over the apartment.

The apartment flooded several times and they replaced the carpet once, but didn't fix the foundation at all and charged us for the water damage when it flooded again. It went on and on. Just save yourself the trouble. They seem nice when you go into the office, but please do yourself a favor and don't be fooled. The maintenance aspect alone is not worth the headache and, believe me, their properties are very poorly maintained.

Rent was paid a head all except for the last month started eviction just after beginning of that month so they could sue me for $5000 instead of letting me pay the last $1000. In eviction hearing they agreed to let me pay the last $1000 but continued to sue me for $5000 on small claims for cleaning. When I was forced to vacate the premises and kept a $1200 deposit on top of it for living in a place for 5 days in July the last month of my lease. Totaling to $7200 for my last month in the house. If you make good money don't rent from them they will exploit that fact.

I lived in a house rented through Martin for a year. They're quick to respond to maintenance requests and pretty easy to communicate with though they can take awhile to respond to emails. Rent was pretty typical for the area. The house I rented was in decent condition but it's my understanding that property qualities vary. The biggest con was the deposit which was valued at more than 1 month's rent.

My roommates and our families deep cleaned the place but still got tacked with $400+ cleaning expenses. Don't expect much of your deposit back. Other than that I recommend renting through Martin.
