Had the pleasure of renting their apartments for 6 years and can't say enough good things about them. They've always been professional, friendly and prompt. Carmen is the absolute best. Truly everyone I've interacted with, they've all been so nice. I'm definitely going to miss renting from such an amazing rental company.

I have had a wonderful experience with the Krenger Company for 17 years. They rented me my first apartment in Chicago in 2005 and I'm still with them. Everyone in the office is very attentive, kind and professional. Any issues that have risen have been fixed quickly and efficiently. A+ all the way.

I just moved to the city not knowing anything about where to live, the price of utilities and going rent, and the rate for parking. The Krenger Real Estate helped me work through all the paper work and find the right apartment quickly and with everything I had in mind. Looking forward to the future while residing with them.

Manages much of the Section 8 properties in the Edgewater area. Site was easy to navigate and informative, but the reality is that you need to go in for personal service to truly understand the very complicated process. And make sure you have a housing navigator from a service agency (free) working with you.

Super happy with my apartment and the management. Upon moving in there were MANY updates. Other tenants are nice and friendly and the location that close to the lake is such an added bonus. Maintenance and everyone else is prompt with email responses and repairs needed. Paul is a great guy. Definitely has positives of a family owned business while maintaining high standards of SOP's. Rent is fair, especially for the area.

The Krenger staff is extremely nice and helpful. I've been living in my apartment for about a year now and I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend one of their units if I had a friend looking for an apartment!

I've lived with Krenger for probably 4 years now and decided this will be my last. I live on a floor with a damaged ceiling with exposed pipes and beams that will leak if there is a heavy rain. It's been that way for a couple months now; they said it couldn't be fixed while there was still snow. Instead of fixing that they've decided to prioritize the front walkway (which wasn't even bad) and have the entire sidewalk torn up and have the front entryway blocked off with caution tape which has resulted in mail not getting delivered for a couple days now.

On the second floor are wet paint signs from close to two years ago from when they were going to repaint all floors (the one floor was the only one that ever got painted). I'm sure they have some nice properties that they actually care about but the 5500 block of n Kenmore aren't those buildings.

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness, Value The office staff is fantastic, but Krenger management doesn't seem interested in keeping tenants. The appliances are cheap. The buildings receive minimum maintenance, and too much responsibility falls on the residents. After months of pushback from the owners, three of us will not be renewing our leases.

Great experience with the entire office and I will rent from them again if I ever need an apartment in Chicago! Thank you for actually caring about your tenants and the experience they have as a renter. I had only a couple maintenance needs and they were all tended to in a timely manner and I was communicated with well. Awesome rent rates for the location!
