I have debated writing this review while I both currently live at one of their complexes and I feel that a few problems here and there are expected. While I have had several issues with this apartment complex, . they all pale in comparison to the condition of the apartment they turned over to us as "ready." This ready apartment does not have a working heater, there is water damage on every single drawer surface.
There is literal grime that was not cleaned on the lightswitches. There was also a broken glass bottle to the entrance of the apartments. I emailed these issues to the property and the manager and I wasn't even afforded the courtesy of a response. I am completely and utterly dissatisfied at this point. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a different company to provide a home for your family.

1) good luck ever reaching an actual person in the rental office 2) good luck using their apps to submit maintenance requests 3) any upgrades they do are cheap and fall apart ie. flooring, faucets, overly painted doors that stick, holes in walls patched thin. 4) new lock system is not going to keep anyone out since you can't even use your. security door when you leave home. (My neighbor was at work when they installed and couldn't even get in to let her dog out) 5) single pain windows rattle all day and night whenever a plane, fed ex, or car drives by. You could just push on them to get in. 6) no security 7) rent goes up $200-300 every time you renew your lease

IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR MAIL / PACKAGES STOLEN, DON'T LIVE HERE. I have been living here for a few months now and I have had three of my packages stolen. It's gotten so bad that one of my packages was left outside of my elevator, and it was ripped open. I work with various brands and the fact that I have to tell them my packages were stolen is a bad look.
Not to Mention management didn't care. I brought the issue up to Lewis, and he told me if it was something expensive I should call my renters insurance. then he suggested that I get a PO BOX. It's like I'm living in a comedy movie at this point. I have rented for At least 13 years and this is the first apartment complex telling me to get a PO BOX, A PO BOX!
Because my mail is being stolen from THE PROPERTY I PAY MONTHLY! Not to mention the lack of care that was expressed. It's actually very disappointing and appalling. My roommate also got His bike stolen IN THE GARAGE about a month after we moved in. The same management didn't care one bit. They gave us a "deal" on the rent! Too bad the pay off has to be our personal belongings. We only have about 4 months left, thank God. A year later - and my items are still getting stolen. Instead, it has escalated to being my work items.

Parkwood at Mill Creek is the biggest joke ever. Terrible management. Lynn, Greta and Theresa do not know how to manage the property. Garbage is always overflowed and concerns are not addressed. Advertised online as luxury. Far from it! The quality of these apartments is sub par to say the least. Rent was raised over two hundred bucks per month and nothing has changed. Do not recommend. Don't move here.

This is a scam company. Stay away! They are offering a good price and discounts, but when we applied for agreed price and paid them 500$ Deposit(of course they've never return it!), they raised the price immediately. Management are so rude, especially mr Bradley Bingham, who treat people like an idiots and shamelessly lie about everything just to make you apply. Worst experience ever! Unfortunately we ignored the fact that they have to many! empty apartments, now we realized that people just run away from this buildings and company.

I lived at Miracle Mile for the past two years and have had nothing but the best experience. The staff is very professional and attentive to the building along with any service requests I needed for my apartment. The neighborhood is my absolute favorite and is walk-able to so many different restaurants and shops. This is over all a GREAT place to live!

As a former resident of the Montebello Apartments, I definitely DO NOT recommend living here. I was living in one of 3 homes that were displaced by a roof leak that occurred in 2018. They hired contractors to work on the rook and the contractors stepped on a sprinkler system that caused flooding and water damage inside my home. The bathroom was. raining water, alarms were going off and water was leaking from all sides of the ceilings.
All of my property was wet and damaged due to the water. The property manager did not do a good job of communicating this when the event occurred. They called the fire department and the fire commissioner determined my apartment uninhabitable. I was.

They classify their apartments as "luxury" however our elevators don't work properly and they have no amenities where I live. All of the Essex communities I have toured have been subpar but charge rent as if they are the best apartments in town. They also charge separately for everything and don't include utilities. If you are going to live in an. essex community, take whatever price is advertised and add $200-$300 per month for parking and utilities, and more if you have pets.
When I toured my current place, they told me that the apartment came with parking, when I got my lease I saw it charged me an extra $75 a month. I think the property manager need to go back to basic English and learn what "comes with" actually means because I was lied to in order to get me to join their community.

I am living in the building for almost a year now. So far I had only positive experience. Building is very well maintained. It is clean and smells good in the lobby. Leasing office members are always friendly and helpful. It is easy to put a maintenance request in the system through the app and someone comes to check it out the same day or the day after. It is true that area has lots of homeless people but still I feel safe to walk around. Overall its a nice clean well maintained building in the very central area.

Don't live here. Worst experience ever. Management don't care about anything except getting more money from you and charging you for everything when you're mowing out. Area is not safe, a lot of homeless people. Building is so old, mold is in ventilation system, it's very dangerous for your health, but management don't care. Very happy that finally moved out.
Don't think this is a good deal, because they are offering a lower prices than the market does. these apartments don't cost more plus a lot of problems and terrible management.

Do not try to even come near this place.they have the most unprofessional staff and the place is not safe. The way this apartment complex is managed is incredibly frustrating. they are way over price and take advantage of your money only because they offer dirty pools and old apartments. If you want to move in, I suggest you think more about it and find another better house around.

If I could give a negative star I would. The management is by far the worst I have ever experienced. They do not care about their residents what so ever. Got false information about moving out and is being over charged. If you are a young professional I would highly recommend never even touring this place. There are kids that play in the streets and will leave their bikes in front of your door.
If you are on the bottom floor you can hear every single foot step as well as screaming at 2 am. Don't bother telling the management they won't care. To top it off in the winter the kids love to jump on top of cars claiming they are "cleaning" them. I've never wanted to leave so badly. Over priced for a terrible place. Save your sanity and look somewhere else. If anything positive that came out of this was maintenance, they were kind and always greeted us with a smile.

I've been living at Vesta for 3 months now, and have had a wonderful experience so far! Kioni showed me my apartment that I ended up renting. It was clean and was the exact floor plan I was looking for! I noticed that the grounds were well kept and the trash bins were organized (great job Devin). Another plus- the parking lot is never overcrowded and there are many amenities to enjoy!
The manager, Jessica, was very warm and inviting. She made me feel comfortable in my decision to live here. Every time I walk in to the office, I am greeted with a gleaming smile and warm welcome from Naaz. Conner has been very helpful in answering all of my questions. I have submitted a couple of work orders, and each time the maintenance team has been super helpful and informative. I highly recommend living here as rent rates are low for such a great location and high quality of living. Best customer service and rental experience so far!

Navjot Kaur from the leasing office is very helpful and amazingly professional. We rented 2 houses this month and she is very prompt with responses, thorough on followups and goes extra mile in recommending other things which helped us alot to settle down easily. Thanks alot Navjot, you are a great asset for Essex!

Run away from this place. I lived there for 4 years and had to move to a different place. Staff at the leasing center is rude and not responsive. The maintenance is awful, public places are dirty. When you move out you will be charged for carpet replacement, no doubt. And they will put this on your credit report.

The tried to repaint their apartments but that doesn't make them any more pleasing, or make up for the type of business this complex runs. Not to mention the painting is sloppy and inconsistent. Don't move here, it's not worth it. They also painted the doors the most ugly shade of yellow. They were fine when they were white!

Poor excuse of management. 1. The noise levels are ridiculous walls are thin I'm sure they have no noise cancelling mechanism within the walls, you can hear your neighbors talking perhaps even whispering. I live on the 4th floor underneath the swimming pool where if someone walks across it sounds like a freaking earthquake. I asked to transfer of course you can.
If you have to PAY up, new deposit and rent if there's an increase.2. Car was broken into in the apt garage and the first thing they asked me is if I left my car unlocked?! Are you freaking DUMB! I can leave all of my doors open and windows down that doesn't give anyone the right to go into my car and steal my stuff! They have had multiple issues with break ins and they have yet to increase security.
I called the supposedly onsite security, and they put me on hold for 12 minutes. I asked where's the security guard onsite rep told me to hold and never heard from her again. 3. Management is unresponsive to complaints and doesn't care for the interest of their residents. Making a formal complaint to the Housing authorities because this is beyond ridiculous. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST LIVING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! for the price, you would expect a lot more. This place is nothing short of pathetic.

Security incidents have drastically increased in last few months. Police-Ambulance visits have become quite frequent now a days. A murder attempt right outside our apartment door last week. Loud noises of fights and breakages heard pretty often now a days. Shoes got stolen outside our door last month followed by my kid's bicycle. Fortunately our lease is getting over next month. Leaving this apartment now for safety reasons.

My wife and I lived in the Cochran building of Essex at Miracle Mile for 2 years and during that time we had various negative experiences. When we first moved in, we thought we were getting a fairly nice apartment at a competitive price but we quickly realized that most of the "amenities" were just a fancy veneer over an aging building and an unhelpful staff.
For example, given the particularly rainy year in LA last year we had multiple instances of major water leaks in the foyer and garage areas. The leaks made huge puddles and caused the dry-wall to fall off the wall. Each time these problems would be "fixed", only to recur with the next rainy day. The pipes in the garage would also leak onto our cars with each rain.
As far as our apartment goes, we had multiple instances where our A/C unit would break, then be "fixed", only to break again a week later. We also had multiple instances of dirty water bubbling up from the drain of our showers and also leaking down through the ceiling on one occasion. There are 6 washers/dryers and at least 1 or 2 is always out of service.
There are 2 elevators and there is always at least 1 out of service as well, and as of our leaving in April of 2017, both elevators were expired by over a year for inspection. All of this would probably earned Essex 2 or 3 stars if that had been all but the management staff are some of the most disorganized and unhelpful people I have ever experienced in my life. Stefania in particular was painful to work with, not only was she unhelpful but she would fail to complete tasks she said she would accomplish.
In our specific instance we had a sit down meeting with her in January of 2017 to give notice that we would be leaving in April and to ask if Essex could extend our lease for 1 month and our normal rate. She stated that she would ask upper management but never relayed the information. Therefore, Essex never got back to us on our request and ended up raising our rent by over $1000 for the extra month.
They also did not consider this meeting "written notice" and charged us an extra $1000 for the last week of April even though we moved out April 5 and payed through April 20. Overall, I recommend that you should not rent from any Essex property. They are a huge company that sees you only has a number and never is willing to work with you as an individual. They complete the bare minimum in order to make as much money as possible.

Do not move here! The office staff is nice while you are looking to rent but once you sign on the dotted line it's a whole different attitude towards you. The apartments are small and overpriced. The community is loud, rude children running around without parental supervision. We had our fire alarm pulled twice this summer by kids. Zero accountability even when they had witnesses as to who pulled it.
Parking is a nightmare. One neighbor had 4 cars and took up all the extra parking. One car doesn't run, literally we would watch them push the car from parking spot to parking spot, another they didn't drive because it was barely running. The lease says two cars per residential unit and when I came to the office to complain Toni, the bookkeeper straight up lied to my face about the neighbors and the verbiage in the lease.
I reviewed my lease and again confronted them, I was lied to again, in total four times by Toni on this matter. They have tagged these cars over the last year and a half but have done nothing to enforce the terms of the lease. Be careful when it's time to renew your lease, they really get you there. They offered us $2500 a month for a barely 1000sq ft apt.
We said no and left. Our apartment is on the market now listed at $1957.so how in a week did it go from $2500 to $1957? Due to the lack of lease terms, the lies and inflated rent values we will never again rent from Essex and I would caution you from renting with them too.

I've lived in the same apartment for 6 years at this location. When arch stone owned them, it was great. When redmond hill owned them, it was also great. Once vesta took over, all the good management members left with arch stone and redmond hill. As of now, vestas management team is very passive aggressive towards their leasing residents, and they are not friendly whatsoever. I've loved living in this apartment since I got here, but for the last year, it's been miserable to live here. Things have changed drastically and its not the same. Management really has an impact on the happiness of your tenants, and bad management will ruin it for everyone.

We have been in Vesta now for six months now and overall we are happy with our apartment. I say that in the full context of apartment living, there are always going to be ups and downs (noisy neighbors etc) but overall, we're happy. The main reason we're happy is the team working in the Leasing office (extended team, the maintenance people included).
They are courteous, super efficient and always very helpful. They work quickly to fix any issues you bring to their attention and provide great support in general for apartment based living. I'll get the few negatives out of the way. The basketball court, fitness center and pool are fabulous BUT there's an issue with getting time on the court and in the gym.
I think the team are trying to figure out what to do best, but right now it's crowded and, IMO, people are abusing the fair-play system. There's a few noisy neighbors, particularly in the late afternoon of summer time as the kids get home. You're probably going to get that in any apartment, though. The rent is a little steep, I think, however probably in line with Redmond overall as an area.
Back to the positives. There's a cute tennis court, a couple of kids play areas and in general it's a nice estate and area to walk around, in the summer in particular. It's very well located in that it's just outside the center of Redmond, but close enough to everything you need. It's really close to Lake Sammammish, Marymoore Park, and a host of other great play areas for Kids (Perrigo, Farrell McWirther Farm etc.).
The apartment (2 bed in our case) is clean, easy to manage, and if any issues arise, they fix them within 24 hours generally. You have a parking space, also. Overall, we are very happy with our experience so far in Vesta.

Hmmm what to say? I've been living in these places for 2 years and since Essex took over they have become increasingly not family friendly. If you are single or young couple fine. If your a family I'm pretty sure you will do better just about anywhere else. Their boast of amenities are a joke they are closed a huge part of the time with no warning.
They expect parents to be right with your children at all times even older kids. No bikes or scooters. Really! Just my point of view, hope it is helpful before you sign a lease!

This used to be a nice community but new staff is very unfriendly. I moved out after living here for almost three year. The lease had to be terminated in between because of a changed circumstance. They declined to take in the new tenants I had found and were asking for much higher rent from new replacement tenants and a longer lease term even though I had only 6 months left in my lease term.
They declined my new referrals who were ready to take over the lease, which I think is a shame. If they accepted them, It would have been much better for me as well as them. When I moved out they made me cough up 2 month lease termination charge. If you still live there, make sure you do all service requests/communication in written. Different staff members say different things over the phone and lately there were many circumstances when I had to do multiple follow up to get service requests completed.

I recently leased a Vesta apartment from the end of May after a lot of apartment searching. This review is for my experience until now. I was communicating with Adam Robertson from the leasing office. He helped me check out apartments which were good but didn't fit some of my criteria. There was a 2nd floor apartment with an amazing view which I absolutely loved but it was already taken for.
So I started looking elsewhere. Adam called me a couple of days later when a 1st floor apartment suddenly got available as the renter had to leave the city. It was a very nice sunny apartment with the same floor plan that I liked and the view was quite good. I was still undecided for a long time but Adam kept in touch with me patiently. I had a few days to apply before the rent went up.
On the night of my deadline I tried to apply online but the system was down. The manager let me apply the next day and honored the rent I was originally offered. Main reasons I chose Vesta and gave 5 stars are: a) Wonderful location with lots of green view and good stores like Fred Meyer, Target, Whole Foods, RTC close by. b) The staff is really nice and friendly. Specially Adam was very helpful, cheerful and patient with me.
He is one of the best leasing agents I have met until now. Even my brother was rooting for Vesta because of the service he gave us. c) All my apartment servicing requests have been promptly taken care of. d) It is a generally quiet neighborhood and apartment complex. e) The apartment is quite spacious and has 9 ft ceilings. It is sunny and has a great view from a big balcony. I feel very much at home. Thank You!

Been here for 3 yrs. Apartment is clean and well maintained. But the indoor pool is poorly maintained, water is so creamy in color. stopped going in there completely. And lately I have been hearing the news about the abnormal increases in rents. Finally it was my turn to receive the surprise, my rent was bumped up by 130$. When checked with mgmt, they were pleasant to say that I should be happy that hike wasnt even 10%. I know this area is really moving fast, but there is no loyalty or appreciation for being 3yrs tenants.

When my fiance and I first moved in, we were so happy with the grounds and the apartment. We've lived here for seven months and have noticed a steep decline in the cleanliness of the grounds. There is garbage everywhere. Garbage in the parking spaces; garbage overflowing the dumpsters. I realize some of this is the result of tenants not respecting the rules, but do a mass mailing or something about keeping the grounds looking nice.
Our apartment is very nice; while they're not soundproof (hey, you're in an apartment), noise isn't that bad at all. Another issue is children. I love children, but even driving 5 MPH, there seems to be a high number of children who just dart out in front of your car and laugh - while their parents are nowhere to be seen. Finally, in the last six months, we've had two incidents with package delivery.
One was a package from Amazon; it was ripped open but contents were left inside box (outside our door), which I reported. My guess is they probably thought it was a Kindle. Second, a FedEx shipment was thrown onto the patio. When I complained to both FedEx and the apartment complex, the person at the office said there's nothing they can do; it's a FedEx issue and that while they've had several issues with FedEx, there is "nothing they can do." Well, if it's a known issue, why not do something about it?
We pay good money to at least have a modicum of safety and privacy here. Finally, the apartment is nice. We opted for the newer, renovated apartment. We were living here less than a month when the apartment next door had a water issue; they tore-up our carpet and had to dry-out the water. No residual issues so far, but makes me want to move.

I spent a year at Vesta Apartments (2012-2013). What I liked: - The staff are wonderful, polite and attentive. - Maintenance requests were met swiftly. - I never felt unsafe or endangered. - The grounds were regularly maintained, and improved. - The size of the apartment was nice, and it was clean, the appliances were good. I had an issue with the dryer not working, but maintenance replaced in in a day. - Cat and dog friendly!
What I didn't like: - I could hear my neighbors below and around me, and despite noise complaints, it never seemed to get better. When my neighbor below through a party, it sounded like there were people in my living room. When my neighbors fought, I heard every word, when their kids cried I heard it, when they were practicing their instruments at 1am, I was hearing it all. - Things appeared on my balcony (a beach ball and boxing gloves?) which I was annoyed about having to clean up as no one ever claimed them.
I was on the second floor. - The Construction company for the inside apartments, renovating or whatever, parked wherever they pleased, often in my registered parking spot. Why I left: - While a nice apartment community, there was a price increase to my rent of over $100. While that's not horrible, it was more than I wanted to pay for the amount of noise I had to deal with from my surrounding neighbors. I do recommend these apartments though, I just hope you have better neighbors! :D
