This corporation is one of the WORST companies to rent through. They do not fix anything unless they are threatened and even then take months to do so. For three months we had to bring our rent with a note attached stating everything that had to be fixed in our apartment. On the third month we threatened them that if the heater was not fixed I will call the border of health because I have a baby at home and the apartment was freezing.
The following week maintenance was sent to fix the problems. Our rent was always on time and we even paid ahead of time if we would be working while the office was open or if the rent would be due on a weekend or holiday (very dumb of us, never pay the rent ahead of time this is why you are given a grace period). On multiple occasions maintenance had entered our apartment without our knowledge or consent (any landlord has to notify you in advance if they have to enter your apartment) and when we called the office and left them a message telling them that we are aware that that is ILLEGAL and we will take action if they do it again, they didn't even have the decency to call us back.
On Monday April 9th, 2018 our apartment building in Springfield Massachusetts burned down due to an electrical malfunction (THE LANDLORDS' NEGLIGENCE) in which no one responsible for our property even called the families to ask if everyone was okay. Six families, including my own, lost everything and we all have children! All they did was give us OUR security deposit and A PORTION of APRILS' rent (when the month had just started).
I am a criminal justice major and I know my rights. I also know a lot more about this corporation. I expressed to Iris, the property manager, about all of my concerns and all of the illegal acts they have committed and told her to rely the message to a higher up since no one was taking responsibility. On the day of the fire I asked her where was the landlord and why have we not received a call from them?
She lied to my face and told me that a particular lady was the landlord. After confronting that women and asking her if she was the landlord, the lady began to stutter and told me in my face that she was not the landlord she just works in the office like Iris. I went back to the office and asked Iris one more time, for the description of the landlord.
She described the same lady. when I explained to her that that lady just told me she was not a landlord and asked her who is the lying she then told me that there actually isn't a landlord because Morgan Kaylee is a corporation. My question to her was why couldn't you say that to me the first time I asked. she had nothing to say. They are a shady company who could care less about their tenants and do not deserve to continue to do this to anyone else.
We are all homeless with nothing. I just want to make sure that no one else has to deal with the same hard time that we have had to endure. NO STARS! Will not allow me to post without marking at least one.
